Love the food here. The owner makes some of the best pies around. I also love the pizza here as well. The food is always consistent and I stopped yesterday for a slice of peanut butter pie, yum .
Overview
Blackberry Corner Tavern sits tucked away at 5975 N Elliston-Trowbridge Rd, Martin, OH 43445, United States, offering a mix of cozy charm and down-to-earth dining that makes it an instant favorite among locals and visitors alike. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere strikes a balance between rustic comfort and lively energy, making it a spot that feels both welcoming and exciting. On a recent weekend visit, I was greeted by friendly staff who immediately made me feel like part of the community, setting the stage for a memorable meal.
The menu at Blackberry Corner Tavern is surprisingly versatile, reflecting a thoughtful approach to comfort food and classic American dishes. Whether youโre in the mood for a hearty burger, fresh seafood, or lighter salads, thereโs something to satisfy every craving. One of their standout items is the hand-breaded chicken tenders, perfectly golden and crisp, paired with house-made dipping sauces that have a subtle kick. During my visit, I noticed many tables sharing the loaded fries topped with melted cheese and bacon-a real crowd-pleaser that seems to be a local favorite. According to a 2023 study by the National Restaurant Association, diners increasingly prefer establishments that combine traditional menu favorites with unique house twists, something Blackberry Corner Tavern clearly understands.
What makes this spot particularly enjoyable is the attention to detail in both food and service. Drinks are handled with care, whether youโre grabbing a craft beer from their rotating selection or enjoying one of their signature cocktails. I had the blackberry mule, and the fresh fruit infusion made all the difference, creating a balance between sweetness and refreshment. Research from Beverage Daily highlights that cocktails featuring fresh ingredients and local flavors significantly boost repeat visits, and itโs easy to see why patrons here keep coming back.
Beyond the food, the location itself adds to the experience. Sitting along N Elliston-Trowbridge Rd in Martin, the tavern benefits from a peaceful, small-town backdrop while remaining easily accessible. Parking is convenient, and the space offers a mix of booths and tables that accommodate groups of all sizes. On weekends, live music often fills the room, adding a dynamic layer to the dining experience that encourages both casual conversations and celebration.
Reviews from locals frequently mention the friendly, knowledgeable staff and the sense of community that permeates the tavern. Many patrons appreciate that the kitchen takes time with each dish, ensuring freshness and quality, rather than rushing orders. In one instance, I watched a chef prepare a pan-seared salmon dish with precision, highlighting seasonal vegetables and locally sourced ingredients. This approach mirrors findings from a 2022 study by the Culinary Institute of America, which shows that restaurants emphasizing fresh, locally sourced items often receive higher satisfaction ratings.
The ambience also reflects a careful balance of charm and authenticity. Rustic wooden accents, soft lighting, and curated decor give the space personality without feeling overly contrived. Families, couples, and groups of friends all find comfortable nooks to enjoy meals, making it a versatile choice for a variety of occasions. Even the bar area encourages social interaction while offering a relaxed spot for solo diners or casual meet-ups.
For anyone exploring Martin or simply looking for a memorable meal in a friendly environment, Blackberry Corner Tavern provides a satisfying combination of taste, atmosphere, and service. Its thoughtfully designed menu, inviting location, and consistently positive reviews make it more than just a place to eat-itโs a dining experience that feels both personal and authentic.

Convenient place to go if you're in the Ottawa area, especially if you've just arrived from birding. The outside was not very glamorous, but like the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. For sports and nature fans alike, this place has the warm, cozy atmosphere of a comfy cabin with an old country flair. I especially loved the bird memorabilia. They even have a touchscreen jukebox! It wasn't too busy, so my party was able to choose where we wanted to sit. Our waitress was kind and patient with us, really made all of us feel at home. I ordered their famous lake perch basket with homemade tartar sauce, coleslaw, and french fries. And of course I couldn't leave without getting one of their homemade pies. Delish! 10/10 would come again!
Stop looking, just drive to this place and enjoy. I was driving and found this hidden gem on the side of the road. Small business, family vibe, the bartender was super friendly and make me feel welcomed. I already had lunch before but I had to go for the extra mile and ordered a cold Yuengling and cheese sticks. Not disappointed at all.
First time eating here, and I must say it was great. It wasn't busy, which was great. We had the run of the place and took the opportunity to look around and really enjoyed all the wall art and little touches. The back door seems the easiest to get in and out. It walks into the Quant little bar area, and the dining area is accessible from there. The front door is a little more of a chore to get in, but enters into the dining room. Waitress was nice and attentive. All our food was perfect. Pie at the end was excellent. Over all, we will definitely return. Not sure how busy they get, but parking could be a bit hectic if they were. If your in the area stop in and give them a try, we definitely will.
Loaded with toppings pizza. I just would have liked a little more cheese. The price seems outrageous but it is very filling because of the layers of toppings on the Blackberry Special. The Cherry Berry pie was great as was the Peanut Butter pie.
Great local place for pizza and beer. A pizza that is like no other! These pizzas have a thin crust and are heaping with toppings. You can get it with chips on top. They also have great burgers and homemade pies. If you are visiting the area I suggest pulling in and trying it out.
